Air Conditioning ducts can over a period of time become contaminated with dust,
building debris, animal dander, cigarette smoke, hydrocarbons, cockroaches, dust
mites, mould, bacteria and viruses etc. These contaminants can cause allergic
reactions in sensitive people and cause or aggravate persistent minor health
problems in others, such as sinus problems, mysterious rashes, coughs and colds.
28% of all people suffer with allergies, as many as 1 in 6 of them do so as a
direct result of a dirty A/C duct system.
80% of indoor air quality problems are due to inadequate ventilation, or
contaminants within the building itself including the air duct system.
In most cases the air duct system has never been properly cleaned since it was
initially installed. Cleaning the duct system has obvious health benefits to those in the
occupied space but also can contribute to increased employee productivity as less
time is taken off on sick leave, reduced housekeeping as dust and debris from the
ducts is no longer being pumped into the occupied space and increased efficiency
of the air duct system as built up debris has been removed.
Envirokleen Solutions highly trained technicians have undergone extensive
training programs, possess in depth knowledge and have a wealth of experience in
air duct cleaning, from ships and oilrigs to multi-storey apartment buildings and
hotels. The combination of our specialists and state of the art equipment means we

The process of cleaning the ducts without contaminating the indoor air is achieved by
using a specially designed HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Arrestor, 99.97% @ 0.3
micron) filtered vacuum unit, or alternatively a vacuum unit which is placed outdoors,
to create a vacuum within the ducts. By using special rotating brush systems and air
whips the dust and debris is agitated, becomes air-born, and is then pulled into the
vacuum collection unit and contained within. We clean the entire A/C supply and
return ducts and components of the air-handling unit where the treated air passes
through, these include the coil, drip tray, fan and filters.
Most air conditioning duct systems have very few or no access openings. Our
procedure includes making openings in the ducts and installing access panels as
required to ensure complete and thorough cleaning.
After completing each section we sanitize the ducts by an application of a duct
sanitizer, to control mould and bacteria.
On completion of each project we provide a certificate of cleaning and a project
report which details the cleaning operation and may also include photographs. These
photographs are particularly useful to identify defects in the system or any specific
problem areas.
